A family enjoying a budget holiday abroad
American Express has issued new research which shows that British holidaymakers are looking at various ways to help them with their annual holidays.
A breakdown shows that 53 percent of the study is looking to travel on off peak days during the week while 39 percent travel at unsocial hours and furthermore 38 percent use budget airlines and 15 percent choice exotic destinations on special offer.
Only 4 percent choose budget accommodation i.e. sharing a bathroom or room and 3 percent say they would tolerate noise from night clubs or bars.
Sarah Harrison director for Amex Travellers cheques said, “While the recession has taken its toll on the family purse strings, its great that people still intend to get away but are keen to find inventive ways to make ends meet so that they can still have a summer break to look forward to”.
Meanwhile Easyjet are planning to make it possible for customers to book flights for 2010 from Bristol, Belfast, East Midlands, Liverpool and Newcastle until the end of June 2010 and from London and Scotland in the next few weeks.
Their new brochures enable cost conscious travellers to benefit Easyjets discounted fares and enable customers to plan ahead for summer 2010.
